Ken had his OB rotation last month so we took advantage of the nights he actually got sleep to go out and have some family time in the mornings. It was still a little cold, but it was nice to be outside. We checked-out the Botanical Garden but it was a little too early for anything but tullips. The boys had fun anyways - A. feeding the giant fish and J. stomping back and forth across the wooden bridge (seriously, he must have crossed it a dozen times smiling all the while).
Next was the zoo. Ken was daring enough to go right upto the glass half-wall where the penguins swim and splash so A. could have a good look. J & I watched the under water show instead. Still, both kids had more fun playing with the spinning globe than anything else!

It's great how these places have free admisison - even to the butterfly room! A. loved this - we've been reading a lot of butterfly books. It was really fun to see J. watching the butterflies with such a serious expression and then suddenly grinning a couple times. Such a fun place, I just wish I was a better photographer!
